Conservation Stewardship Award

Sussex Conservation District (SCD) is accepting entries for the inaugural Conservation Stewardship Award. This award will recognize organizations in various categories that have exceeded Delaware Sediment and Stormwater Regulations to prepare, protect and preserve sensitive natural resources in the county.

SCD, through its recognition and appreciation of these organizations, hopes to catalyze future voluntary conservation and encourage residents to choose conservation focused organizations.

To qualify, projects must be located in Sussex County and initiated or completed in the past 24 months. Multiple entries per organization are permitted. Attach additional pages, if necessary, photos and videos are encouraged.

The deadline to enter is Monday, Nov. 15, 2021.

A panel of judges will evaluate entries and winners will be announced in early Jan. 2022. Winners will receive the 2022 Conservation Stewardship Award and graphic.

A banquet, on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown, will formally recognize winners, their achievement and positive impact on the state’s natural resources.
