Town of Frankford
January 2021
Situated less than 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, as the crow flies, the little Town of Frankford is making big strides to improve drainage in the community with help from SCD. With cost-share funds and knowledgeable staff, SCD has helped the town protect and preserve natural resources.
“They make the process easy,” says Skip Ash, town council vice president.
Since 2015, SCD has completed over a dozen projects including:
- ditch dip outs
- pipe replacement
- pipe installation
- infiltration pipe installation
- catch basin installation
- riprap stabilization
“Cost-share funds make our budget go twice as far,” says Ash, “but there is always more to be done. We’re steadily working to improve our drainage systems that was neglected for over 30 years.”
With nearby growth and aging infrastructure, the drainage system is struggling to move water properly and, “many property owners were unable to use their yard, flooding was a problem in many areas,” explained Ash.
“Since working with SCD, we’ve always met our budget and deadlines, it’s all been great,” said Jimmy Sample, town councilman.
