The District's Heavy Equipment Program has been a major part of the District since its inception in 1944.
The District's Agricultural Conservation Program works with the farming community providing nutrient management planning, cost share funding for best management practices and partnering with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in developing conservation plans and Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) contracts.
The District also partners with Delaware's Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Watershed Stewardship by providing technical assistance, construction planning and funding opportunities to the Sussex County Agricultural community that is leading the way in water quality improvements with the implementation of conservation best management practices throughout the Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, and Inland Bays Watersheds.
